Tombstone Park’s annual botany festival. Join expert botanists for presentations and guided hikes to explore alpine tundra, beringian and boreal plant communities in Tombstore Territorial Park.

Carcross Dunes Hike

Meet at the Carcross Visitor Information Centre, 1:00 - 3:00 pm

Take a hike through the spectacular Carcross Dunes and view unique land formations. Discover rare plants, such as the 10,000 year old Baikal Sedge! Please bring a water bottle and wear appropriate footwear.

Explore, learn and enjoy! Join a Parks Canada staff member for a leisurely nature walk, a guided hike or an evening talk around a campfire.

Canyon City Hike

Tours leave twice daily at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm from the Robert Lowe suspension bridge beneath the Miles Canyon Parking lot

Follow the emerald Yukon River on a trip into the past. Yukon Conservation Society guides take you from the canyon's geological beginnings millions of years ago, through the last ice age, the traditions of indigenous inhabitants, migrant gold-seekers and more.

Yukon Family Fishing Weekend

All weekend long, Territory wide!

Yukoners fish for free this weekend! Also celebrate National Fishing Week (July 3 -12) by dropping by the Whitehorse Fish Ladder on Sunday, July 5th for a Family Fun Event.

Please note: Salmon Conservation Catch Cards and Yukon Angling Licenses will be required if fishing for Salmon.

Bison Creep

Yukon Wildlife Preserve, km 8 on the Hot Springs Road, 6:30 - 8:30 pm

Wood Bison are the largest land mammals in North America. Come out to the Yukon Wildlife Preserve to observe these magnificent herd animals and learn all about their life history and behavior, with biologist Tom Jung. Call in advance to reserve your spot for this special event!

What's Creeping into Carcross?

Meet at the Carcross Visitor Information Centre, Noon - 1:00 pm

The Carcross Dunes and Carcross Desert are home to a wide variety of interesting plants, including the 10,000 year old Baikal Sedge. However, the Altai Wild Rye grass is threatening the dune system and the plants and animals that live there. Come learn about what an invasive species is, what it means for Carcross and what you can do to help!

Activate the kids with a "Run of the River" (registration 10:45 am), then stick around for games, a waterfront interpretive walk, food, music, even daylight astronomy!

Pelly River: Free Tour of Fort Selkirk

Meet at the Pelly Farm. Yukon Government at Selkirk First Nation invite you to visit Fork Selkirk. Two boats will shuttle visitors back and forth from the Pelly Farm to Fort Selkirk. Please bring a lunch, a hat, bug dope, and good walking shoes. Registration is limited to 80 people so call early to reserve a spot.
