The draft Yukon Government Climate Change Action Plan is ready for public review and comment. The Government of Yukon has consulted widely and made sure the information received is in the plan. The draft Action Plan includes actions already underway, actions that require us to expand current initiatives, and recommendations for new initiatives. It focuses on priority actions that provide the most benefit to the territory.

As a government, we can monitor the impacts of climate change and put in place programs to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions or adapt to new challenges. The paper version of the draft Yukon Government Climate Change Action Plan is available from your local Environment Yukon office or the Yukon Government's Main Administration Building in Whitehorse.

| THE DEADLINE FOR PUBLIC COMMENT IS JULY 31ST, 2008 | ||
The Action Plan sets out what the government could or should do to monitor, respond to, and reduce emissions that cause climate change. Public comment on the proposed actions will in turn influence the government's decisions about what should go ahead. The deadline for public comment is July 31st. The final version of the Yukon Government Climate Change Action Plan should be ready this fall.
